On Change…
If you’ve been hanging around this space for a while, you may have noticed a few things:
1. My absence over the past year and 2. The name change.
The model of focusing solely on creating products and teaching classes really caused a level of overwhelm and burnout that I hadn’t experienced in quite a while. I needed to take a breath and focus on the mundane for a while. I had actually had decided to get into B2B software sales (went through trainings and interviewing process!) when I met my husband who reminded me what kind of life I want to live. And that does not include sitting at a computer and on the phone for 8 hours a day. We decided pretty quickly that we wanted to build a life together on his 8 acre property. He is a self taught botanist and advocate for native plants. Together we are creating a business that would merge herbalism, gardening, native plant and pollinator advocacy with a splash of permaculture landscape design.
I’ve decided to rework this online space to cultivate an opportunity for us to talk about how we are crafting our farm and business in addition to allowing us to share what we have to offer.
I am also adding a small artisan shop section in my online shop space to include handcrafted goodness from dear friends who are beautiful artists.
Which brings us to the name change: Wild Earth Herbals will remain as the herbal product line; however, as we expand the business to include more than just herbals, I felt like changing the name of our online space would be prudent. Welcome to Finch & Fen.
As this space grows, you will find information on gardening and permaculture, herbalism and native plants, cottage witchery, vintage style and decor (because if you know, you know!), good foods and recipes, and living sustainably. The herb shop is going to be slowly revitalized as well as online course offerings coming back on a regular basis. I hope you enjoy your visit!
